Information collected
Every signer provides a name and email address. Candidate signers also provide the office sought or held and may provide a campaign website so their identity can be confirmed. The system records signer type, pledge version, publication consent, review status, and submission time. Contact requests include the selected request type, name, email address, message, status, and submission time. No telephone number, payment information, donation information, party affiliation, or voting history is collected.
How information is used
- Record, review, and administer the voluntary pledge.
- Prevent duplicate submissions and investigate suspected impersonation or abuse.
- Confirm a candidate signer’s identity before publishing the candidate’s name.
- Respond to questions, corrections, removal requests, privacy requests, and accessibility requests.
- Maintain consent, correction, security, and legally required records.
Public information
Only the signer’s name is public, and only after the signer gives separate publication consent and the submission is reviewed. Candidate names also require identity verification. Public lists do not include email, office, website, party, location, timestamp, contact messages, or technical records.
Sharing
Personal information is not sold or used for fundraising. Nonpublic information may be available to service providers that operate the site, authorized administrators, or government authorities when legally required.
Your choices
Use the contact page to request correction, removal from public display, access, or deletion where legally permitted. A removal request does not erase records that must be retained to document consent, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations.
Security and retention
Administrative access is restricted, public data responses return names only, and nonpublic pledge and contact records are retained only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes stated above.
