About Citizens4US

A serious citizen answer to a problem Americans already recognize.

Citizens4US began with a simple conviction: public service should be temporary, and capable citizens should be able to afford to run for office.

Founder disclosure

Citizens4US and the government reform proposal were created by Brent Roberson. Roberson is currently a candidate for the North Carolina House of Representatives, District 23, and fully supports the proposal. This fact will remain prominently disclosed as the organization develops.

Mission

Return government to citizen service through two reforms: reasonable lifetime term limits and firm campaign-spending limits that apply equally to every candidate and party.

Organizational direction

Citizens4US has filed formation paperwork for a separate North Carolina nonprofit corporation intended to operate primarily for social welfare under Section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code. Federal tax-status filings and legal review remain to be completed before this becomes a final statement of legal status.

Independence standard

The organization will publish its governance, leadership, conflicts, and legal status. No party, corporation, union, candidate, or other outside organization controls the public signer lists. Because the founder is a current candidate, Citizens4US and Roberson’s candidate committee must remain operationally separate unless counsel approves and reports a particular interaction.
