A citizen-led government reform initiative

Government belongs
to us.

Citizens4US is built around two reforms: reasonable lifetime term limits and firm campaign-spending limits. Public service should be temporary, and public office should be within reach of capable citizens—not only career politicians and large financial interests.

Citizen and candidate pledges are open. Public lists are alphabetical and show names only. Every name is reviewed before publication; candidate names also require identity verification. Citizens4US does not solicit or accept donations.

1776–2026 · 250 years

A republic is renewed by its citizens.

In our nation’s 250th anniversary year, Citizens4US invites Americans to reclaim their place at the table—peacefully, lawfully, and together. The government is not the property of parties, donors, lobbyists, or permanent officeholders. It belongs to the people.

The Citizens4US mission

Citizen service

Public office should not become a lifetime career.

The proposal sets exact limits and prevents changing offices from becoming a way around them.

U.S. Senate12 years maximum
U.S. HouseTwo four-year terms · 8 years maximum
N.C. Legislature8 years in either chamber · 12 years combined
N.C. Council of State8 years in one office · 12 years combined

Clear ceilings

No ranges. No outside campaign.

The limits cover the complete election cycle. A legally required runoff permits one additional 15% allowance.

The public pledge

Ask every candidate where they stand.

Citizens can pledge their support for reasonable term limits and firm campaign-spending limits. Candidates and officeholders can publicly commit to supporting the constitutional amendments and legislation needed to enact them.
